I just wanted to tell everyone on here, especially those that suffer from IBS-D, because that is what I suffer from, IT DOES GET BETTER!!!! It never really goes away completely, but there is hope. My IBS got really bad in December '06, so bad that I lived on crackers and bagels, lost 9 pounds in a couple of months (which is terrible because I'm only 5'2 and weigh 94 lbs, more or less) and completely cut out everyone from my life because it was too embarrassing and awkward, and UNCOMFORTABLE! I'm sure everyone knows what I mean. I came across this board in the middle of December, and instantly started following Heather's diet, beginning with BTC (break the cycle), and then slowly adding foods in to my diet. Through trial and error I figured out what I could and could not handle, and how much I could handle. I began a new lifestyle; exercising more, and taking more time for myself to just relax, and I tried to eliminate some stress from my life, since that is what caused the IBS in the first place (my boyfriend leaving for Marine Corps training,,,we broke up 2 months ago though). I watched what I ate, and tried new foods, like soy milk and other things like that. I started taking multi-vitamins (I take OneSource Womens) and probiotics (called Kyodophilus), as well as my miracle pill, Vegetarian Natural TROPICAL PAPAYA Enzyme Suppliment, available at your local health food store. I take this with everything that is high in fat or dairy, and NO MORE D, NO MORE PAIN, NO MORE UPSET STOMACH!!! I can eat EVERYTHING again! Some may ask, "Are you sure you just didnt have something else in the first place that has resolved itself by now?" I can easily answer this: No. I have experimented, trying everything that triggers me WITHOUT the papaya enzyme, and I get terrible D. It is still and definitely IBS, however this natural enzyme works wonders. It is like a Lactaid Pill, but for everything. I'm not saying you should try it, but just keep in mind that with time and patience, you will find comfort and it will get better

Take care, and God bless.
