. . . I think that Nature Calm sort of is a love/hate thing with me. It does seem to help ease the gas and bloat, but then I think it flares me too. I'm just not a happy camper right now.
Lainey, I have been following your posts, and I don't think you said why you are not using Miralax. It's an "osmotic" laxative, newly available over the counter, that doesn't act all at once like magnesia laxatives do. Probably, until you are taking a good amount of Acacia Tummy Fiber, the Miralax would help you feel more comfortable, but then you would plan to wean yourself off it.

What Probotics did you try?
I've been on NSI 15-34 for awhile, and now I'm on Align, which caused some reaction for a week or so, after the change over.

How do you use the fiber? Do you put it in water or on food? I'm chicken, but I will be trying it after Tues. when I have no big obligations I have to be at. When I flare I just can't function that well so Tues night it is. Do I put it on my food or in apple sauce?
I take a teacup, put in my dose of Tummy Fiber (or FiberSure), and add fairly warm water, stir it, stop stirring and let it think about dissolving, let it dissolve, stir it again, and drink. That saves always having to have the same food on hand for the sake of the Soluble Fiber Supplement. Oh, and something I remember from one of your posts. The SFS (Acacia Tummy Fiber or FiberSure) is sort of like Miralax; that is, "osmotic." By that I mean, even if the definition doesn't, that the way it acts is integrated with your body, so that the fiber does NOT form a "brick" or clump that then you have to manage to get rid of.
Instead, it forms a gel in your large intestine--the Soluble Fiber Supplement does--mixing itself with water and with the content of the large bowel that has arrived there after being digested in the stomach and small intestine. The gel is a gentle substance that is comparatively easy to squeeze out, and all of a piece.
Looking up "osmotic" and guessing that how it applies to Miralax and to Soluble Fiber Supplements is that they arrive in your large intestine as a liquid which can permeate the contents of your large intestine and moisten and soften it.
All the best,
