I don't know about malt products. At one time I thought they were a trigger for me but later I found out I was wrong.

High fructose foods including high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) are know to be IBS triggers. You will find a number of references to this in Heather's FAQ.. If you search the board using either fructose as your keyword you find many postings about fructose malabsorption and GI disorders including IBS.

HFCS has to be listed as an ingredient in food. In the US and Canada is it is listed as high fructose corn syrup or fructose-glucose. You will have to read the labels on all the foods your buy. HFCS can be found in almost anything.
