Calcium supplements can be a major source of problems for those with IBS, especially IBS-D. I took one and within a few hours had bloating with diarrhea, cramps as well. After stabilizing myself, a week later tried another with the same results.
There might be a connection to those who are lactose intolerant and this supplement. Since I cannot drink milk or eat any dairy foods, I can understand my having an issue with a calcium supplement.
However I have friends with IBS who are not lactose intolerant but have issues with calcium pills.
