Actually, statin drugs used to be antifungal drugs. This is what I understand about cholesterol and fungus , and I am no doctor nor pretend to be one:
Fungal toxins in the blood stream cause elevated blood cholesterol. Cholesterol binds fungal toxins, rendering them less harmless.Rid yourself of the fungus and your body doesn't need the excess cholesterol. One researcher who found this is Dr. Constantini, from the World Health Organization. My simple understanding of it all is kinda the same as I found in the following article. I only include it as a source of information on the topic. I guess you can ask your doctor more about it, if it is something you want to investigate further.... that's all. Good luck!
