Following the diet can help, but it will take more than a few days. Some people have taken more than a year to stablize with the diet, while others have seen improvement within a few months.
Not eating can cause bouts of IBS but to what degree is variable depending on the person.
If you took too much acacia, it might make you feel a little C, or with gas, bloating, and feeling like you have to go. To start, you really should be taking 1/4 teaspoon twice a day. After about a week, increase yor total dose by 1/4 teaspoon. The following week, increase your total dose by 1/4 teaspoon. At that point you should be at 1/2 teaspoon 2 times a day.

Candida might be contributing to your symptoms so you can ask your doctor to run a test for that too.
