Then as a preteen/teen I had several memorable episodes of D and thought it was always food poisoning. As that continued I realized it might be IBS at about 19. I started getting bloated at about 19 (started BC then and got married- hmmm). So I had alternating from late teens years and then goofed myself up really bad with correctol. I went to the doc in my early 20s but had no insurance. I got that in mid 20s and tried a few things with no help. Bloating has been the worst and I have had occasional D followed by C that makes it hard to medicate me. I am 33 now so it has been a long time! -------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages: "You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
