Just a few questions...

Hi there. I recently came across this site and was so relieved to find so much helpful information I have had extreme bloating and abdominal discomfort for the past year, accompanied by abnormal and very frequent bms. My doctor told me I have a "spastic colon" which i understand is another term for ibs. She told me to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and to avoid fried foods, which describes my diet to begin with anyways. After reading this site I see that my diet, which was filled with whole grain breads pastas, and basically all of the fruits and vegetables on the "caution list" was the worst possible diet for me! I have just started with Heather's diet and already I have noticed improvement. I just have a few things I would like to clarify. Roughly how many grams of fat should I be consuming per day and/or per meal? Also I tend to be an evening snacker and eat a lot during the evening. I have been trying to eat more frequent small amounts throughout the day, but I stll find myself very hungry by the evening. Any suggestions of ways to curve my night time snacking habit? Or are there certain foods that would be best when indulging? Any suggestions would be appreciated, because i find that eating too large amounts does affect my ibs, even if it is low fat foods. Thanks:)
