Seroxat and Movicol for IBS       05/26/07 12:48 PM Edit Reply Quote annacabanna2004 Reged: 05/25/05 Posts: 3 Loc: Yorkshire, UK I am a 24 year old in England who has been suffering from IBS (now confirmed) for the last 5 years. After seeing a specialist I have been descibed Seroxat (which is an anti depressant in higher quantities - I take 5ml per day) and Movicol Sachets in a pint of water each night before bed. My main symptoms have significantly improved and although I don't think I will ever be 'normal' my standard of life is so much better. I can now go out for a meal in the evening without having a painful and bloated stomach straight after and the day after and don't have to worry nearly as much about being near a toilet at certain times of the day. I haven't suffered nearly as many cramps and although I still have to watch the quantities of what I eat, I can eat a larger variety of foods. I waited way to long before I went to my doctor and although it took a while to get to see a specialist, it was worth asking to see one. Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
