Hi, my names Geoff I am from New Zealand, I have just turned 30 and I live in London at the moment.

I apologise for how long this post is in advance, but It felt good to write this all down. So you may just want to skip through to the questions at the end!

I was diagnosed with IBS & lactose intolerance about 3 years ago. At the time this meant I removed diary and a few other problem foods and lived quite normally. Unfortunately a year ago my symptoms became considerably worse after a big night out drinking.

From this point on I have had considerable problems with my IBS-D, which my Doc. put down to Anxiety attacks. After little help from my doc. I tried a Nutritionlist, who advised me to do a intolerance test and Stool analysis test. The stool anaylsis test brought up Candidia, so I have been taking supplements to clear this. The intolerance test came back with a no. of foods to avoid including All the grains (even rice!) except Oats (which I have trouble with anyway), Soya Beans (so no soya products) and a few other regular IBS foods to avoid. I managed to survive on the limited diet the Nutrionlist gave me, but after a while I becamme a bit disheartened with the advice as the nutrionlist never advised about SF and IF and many other IBS factors I had been reading about.

So it's now about 8 months since I've been on this strict dietary scheme. I take the Acacia fibre which is great as the others I tried left me severly bloated (although I'm waiting on my next batch and it's run out )I have given up alcohol totally and all the general IBS triggers.

I am also on a Anti-D which I found quite helpful, but I'm at the stage where I'm not sure what to do next? I still have problems often and I'm worried that I'm not getting all the goodness I need from my food. I haven't found anybody that is as intolerant to so many foods as I am, which makes it difficult. Also I have always been very active, but I find it hard to recouperate after playing sport these days. So I'm wondering where next to turn.

Does anybody know a good dietician/nutrionlist in London?
as I'm sick of paying great sums of money to people that don't really seem to understand.

Also after keeping a food diary, I have noticed that I have problems around meals with protein, does anybody have the same problem?

Basically any support would be most welcome as well, as it would be nice to talk to people with similar problems.

Anyway, I salute you if you've read all the way, I feel like I could write another 3 pages at least (why weren't university papers this easy!)

Cheers.
