I am getting the results of my H.Pylori test today from my doctor, so I'll let you know if it came back positive or negative (I have a feeling negative, but we'll see). I've had GERD for over four years now, and when I first started they put me on Nexium. That worked, but the side-effect was that I burped a ton. Over the summer, I got switched to Prevacid, which I really liked, not as much burping. Then I switched doctors in January and when I went to renew my reflux prescription, she switched me to Prilosec. That was the worst one for me, I'm convinced it made my D worse. Luckily, a month ago I called her and told her I wanted to go back to Prevacid. So that's what I am on now, and I think it helps my IBS in the fact that there isn't as much acid to make my stomach as "angry" as it was before. And it is certainly effective for reflux symptoms.

In terms of recipes, I substitute a lot. This website and the recipe index have been life-savers, along with the tips from Heather's books. I am currently reading "Eating for IBS" and I highly recommend checking it out (I got the copy through my local library network). Basically, I utilize rice or soy milk in a lot of my baking and cooking. My dad's proud of me -- I've been cooking so much more for myself lately, hehe. Anyway, that's what has been slowly helping me. I've only been on the diet for a little over a month, and I know it takes a lot longer to get stable, so I'm trying to take it one step at a time.
