Funerals are really for family and friends who find themselves grieving at the loss off one that will certainly be missed. It is through funerals and memorials that we find comfort in the knowledge that we are not alone here in this mortal life, and that we will someday be reunited with our loved ones.

Many religions recognize life after death.

Don't fill obligated to attend a funeral where you don't feel comfortable.

You said, "I was not close to her … but liked her. I grieved a little … but there are people still grieving a lot."

I don't attend every funeral when someone from work dies, but if I knew the family, or if I had co-workers who are my friends and they are having a rough time I would go to support them.

Answer these questions:
Would the funeral services comfort you at the death of this co-worker? Do you need this comfort, and could you help support a friend who plans on attending?

Hope that helps … some.
