I love it! And I can eat it in small amounts without any problems. I add my daily dose of acacia to it when I have it.

I found a recipe that looked pretty good and modified it.

1 lb. dried split peas (note whether or not you have to pre-soak)
2 ribs celery - chopped
1-2 potatoes (depending on the kind you eat) peeled and chopped
1/2 t garlic salt or 1 garlic clove chopped
6 C hot water
1/4 C dried parsley
1 t dried oregano
1 C soy/rice milk
1/2 - 1 C Bac-Os (they're soy!)

In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients except Bac-Os. Cover and cook on low 6-7 hours. Add Bac-Os. Continue to cook for another hour. Add salt and pepper to taste.

That's it. Super easy and very tasty. You can play with the measurements - it's a pretty forgiving recipe.

The mushier the potato and celery, the better. And the Bac-Os will get all big and soggy and it's like eating soft little "real bacon" bits. Yum!

Be sure to have it with a good base. And start with small amounts so you don't trigger an attack.

PS. When this chills in the fridge it gets very thick, like a paste. But the pea-soupiness comes back to it when you reheat it.
