My first GI Dr. told me to take metimucil - made things worse as far as my C
My second GI Dr. told me to take Benefiber - I started out at the recommended dose not knowing any better and was in horrible pain with bloating & gas.
I found this site prior to going to 3rd GI Dr. - started out taking same amount of Acacia as benefiber - Wrong!!
Stopped for a week then restarted at 1/4 teaspoon twice a day. Increased this by 1/4 teaspoon a day, once a week (usually increased every Monday). I am now at 1 tablespoon twice a day, and that seems to work. As I increased the SF, I increased IF and decreased Miralax.
Hope that makes sense
