I have IBS-D & I take Caltrate Plus. I am very happy with this product. It is easy to swallow & does not cause any negative gastro-intestinal effects. I highly recommend it.
I have been taking it for well over four months. I find that any calcium supplement with a high dose of magnesium gives me an attack, so this product is perfect for me.
Also, in order to get enough vitamin D from fortified "not-milk" products (or milk), one would have to consume a quart! There are natural sources of vitamin D beyond sunlight, i.e. fish/shellfish (salmon, tuna, halibut, shrimp, etc.), dried shiitake mushrooms & egg yolks.
I'm sticking with the Caltrate Plus. I've tried other calcium supplements with disasterous results.
