Hi First, congrats on quitting smoking! That is great and must have been and must still be very difficult. It is amazing what cigarettes can do to your bowels...there are actually many GI problems that can be caused by cigarettes or masked by cigarettes. Many GI problems will show themselves once you quit smoking. My guess is that your body is just getting use to its new "environment" but it might be a good idea to talk to your doctor due to your change in symptoms (I am a medical student) and make sure that there is nothing new going on. I wish you luck in quitting and congrats again!
