I can certainly see why you're having frequent attacks. It seems to me you're on an emotional rollercoaster and that in itself is a trigger. I too was stable for some time and felt as though I could "cheat". Unfortunately, I believe bc I let myself slack off my system eventually worked against me and I'm also right back to where I was with my IBS-D. I can't comment on the Benefiber/Acacia thing. I'm terrified to take any kind of fiber but have ordered the Acacia from Heather and will see how it goes. Hypnotherapy also does not work on me - I don't respond to suggestion. Yoga - no good for me either. I do the occasional walk and I walk a lot on campus at the school where I teach. My biggest stress relief lately is chatting on the boards. There's a journal website where you can go www.dailystrength.com to journal your thoughts and feelings. May be helpful. As far as medical support is concerned. My Gastro never really did anything to help me so I don't really trust Western Medicine in their treatment of IBS. The ONLY thing she ever did was prescribe Xifaxan which helped for a while (it's an anti-D) obviously not for everyone. Immodium? Never helped me. My D was so bad by the time I took the Immodium, it never helped. I did take Prozac (very small doses) for some time and that seemed to help. Remember that our gut is tied to our emotions. It will be hard for you to stabalize until you've dealt with how you're feeling. I sympathize with your Tinnitus. I get that ringing (as though someone is talking about me) every once in a while. To deal with it always MUST be hard. Hang in there. We're all suffering together. Do you have the option to go seek some type of counseling. That helped me a lot in the beginning.
