I think I get really worried because I am in the middle of a round of tests at the surgery department as I want to see what they can do about my sphincter problem. And when you have appointments like that especially when it involves all kinds of tests "back there" where they want you to have an empty rectum I find I really want to be able to trust my bowels and I want the BM to be predictable. I mean I'd rather be able to empty the rectum myself in the normal way than have them force me to take some bowel irritating substance...

And with my low sphincter control even leaving the house is like torture if the IBS is acting up.

I think I'm scared of getting a problem from the pills and that it will take a long time to recover physically and/or mentally from it... I am just trying to learn to feel more confident and feel like ok, if I take something that upsets the system then if I just stop taking it I will soon be well again. I'm working on it.
