I started the IBS diet about 2 months ago and I was having a lot of luck with it until I quit smoking (9 days ago). I also began taking Acacia over a month ago (started at 1/2 teaspoon twice a day, and gradually increased to 1/2 teaspoon four times a day). I know that nicotene has a huge affect on your system, but could the withdrawal symptoms be causing a huge amount of smelly gas due to everything slowing down? I normally don't get this type of gas. Thought maybe I increased the Acacia too quickly, so I dropped it back down to twice a day, which hasn't made a difference. I'm eating oatmeal, banana and pumpkin bread, tuna, crackers, applesauce, white rice, baked chicken, corn chex and rice milk daily. Thanks!
