After reading a post this morning, I have a question about constipation and IF. I have considered myself stable for a week or so,gone off the Bentyl, am using Benefiber(1-1/2 TBS), and following the diet. I am only experiencing gas occasionally, no more or less than before i even started this episode of IBS 3 months ago. One of the posts said to increase your IF with the Acacia. I think that too much IF in my diet period, increases my constipation. I mostly get IF with some raisins and almonds in my morning oatmeal, some cooked veggies, occasional salad(after a meal) and fruit, unpeeled now that I am stable. Is it unhealthy to limit IF if this is the case? It seems that it only adds bulk, and I dont need this. How much do you need of IF? And if I try Acacia, do I need to increase The IF? I am IBS-C. but very moderate. I go only one day without a bm and then the next day it will be harder and like little balls all day with gas in between. When I have pure SF, by bms are soft formed and banana shaped. I also dont seem to strain going either. Never the same from one day to the next. But this does seem very minimal to me since I am hardly suffering. I do appreciate all the answers I get on the board. Sorry so long and TMI!! I am just trying to figure out this last part about motility since I am feeling so good lately. Dont want to rock the boat!! Thanks to everyone!
