My plan with sugar has been to use stevia, don't have sugary things anywhere near me (tough when DH wanted chocolate bars and they are sitting around. I told him to hide them and never give in to my demands but he totally failed that request) and to eat other yummy things to replace sugar. I have a lot of fruit, I have been drinking tea with stevia in berry flavors and the like and I have been eating pistachios. About 9 pm I get sugar/carb cravings and it has been tough, but I already feel it ebbing. Other than that I am just being very controlled and I really have the desire to stick to my plan. I also find that raisins help too. They are ok because remember the fructose is offset by fiber. I am not drinking juices though since there is no fiber to offset the natural sugars.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
