I had to go to the emergency room last week because I was having pains in my upper abdomen that radiated to my upper chest (both sides in front of shoulders) and upper back (both sides). They told me it was GERD. I had a gallbladder ultra-sound, chest x-rays, cardiograms, bloodwork etc. All came out fine. My problem is the trapped gas behind the breastbone, which often twinges to upper chest. It's worse when I lean forward. A little like hiatal hernia which I've had in the past. My intestines are back to being "messed up" again and my IBS kicked in. Any suggestions on how to get back on track with both the IBS and how to get rid of this blocked gas (which is worse when I'm aggravated and upset over it)? I have TUMS, Gaviscon, GasX, Prilosec and Pepcid. The Pepcid gave me diarrhea. I don't have burning just mostly trapped gas that is painful up high in abdomen.
Thank you all. Happy Holidays,
Love, FlourGirl
