Syl gave you a perfect answer, so I'll chime in with a cook's "me too".

Sourdough bread is typically made with a fermented "starter" - usually flour and water, and sometimes yeast - which is what gives it its "sour" taste, not buttermilk. Sourdough bread should contain NO dairy whatsoever, which is why it's recommended as one of the safest breads for IBS. Definitely read ingredient labels before you buy!
