Re: elavil?       12/13/06 07:24 PM Edit Reply Quote Sufie Reged: 10/14/06 Posts: 148 I have been on a low dose for 2 months. My dose is pretty low 20mgs a day but it still has effects on my mood. I seem to be calmer in general. The prescribing doctor said the effects can take up to 1 month or more. High doses are not used to treat IBS and low dose treatments have few side effects. I don't feel any side effects. I really don't want to be on it for a long time but I need to give it at least 6 months I think. Anyway, good luck. Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
