Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

probably should of posted this first before post yesterday.(vacation) i am IBS-C but only C for a day.(lucky i guess) i am taking Bentyl after a visit to regular doc. i have tried break the cycle diet since early sept. have attacks only in evening. probably more careful with diet during day. i need help with dinner. i have tried some recipes from heathers books but react to garlic, onions, and too much fat. each time i have had fish i have had bad attacks too. i am sick of eating plain chicken and rice. So is my family. my sons are like, "cant we have hamburgers?" my husband and sons thinks im nuts. i need help with the flatulence. even with bentyl i feel bloated and pass gas most evenings, can clear a room. i thought the antispasmodic was supposed to alleviate this? Anyone know if donnatol or levsid is better? i take simethicone after every meal, homeopathic gas caps and even activated charcoal to try to get relief most every night. fennel tea does not work either. any suggestions? some nights i cry because i dont want my husband to even come in our bedroom. it is embarrassing and he thinks its just a "little gas". I am 42 and havent had this bad of a time since first episode 9 years ago which completely went away in three months. i could eat enything after that. i have been having a terrible time with my cyles(perimenopausal) and i am convinced this is related to it.
