anal fissures       12/12/06 01:33 PM Edit Reply Quote Taryn Jodi Reged: 10/24/06 Posts: 18 I would say it's at least been 3 months now... an average constipation episode resulted in my first ever (known) anal fissure. It is EXTREMELY painful. I received some prescription ointment to put on the fissure in Novemeber, which might heal it for a few days and then there I go, tearing again. :-/ I believe I have a fairly high pain tolerance and sometimes this is so painful that it makes me not want to go to the bathroom. Has anyone else suffered from this? If so, how long did it take to go away or at least for the pain to end? Did it result in surgery? I have read that sometimes you have to go the surgery route. I admit, at 25 I don't feel up to having surgery on my anus... at any age for that matter! Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
