Hi, Jordy, about the magnesium, well, yes, I only take it "as needed" if I don't remember if I went to the bathroom in the near past (I don't obcess about that any more, have too much work for that). My doctor encouraged me to do that, she said it's not a problem to not go unless it is causing me pain. I don't go every day now (sometimes every day, sometimes once in 2 days, sometimes twice a day), but I don't feel discomfort. I have also started to gain weight (which I couldn't do before, but now I have to be carefull :):) )

Well, I don't like beans, so I don't eat them too often. I do eat IF -- I eat celery in soups, cauliflower (soup again), I also eat dairy (and that's a stimulant as you know), I eat my oatmeal every morning (with milk or water, depending on mood and contents of refrigerator ), also I eat brown rice mostly (basmati brown rice). Oh, I also eat apples and bananas, but these are safe... hmm... well that's it. I am eating extremely low fat and very safely (excluding the milk I put in my oatmeal and sometimes in baked goods) so I guess my body just adjusted to the current situation and doesn't need the laxative that often any more.

When I think about it, I only eat from very small set of foods, of which just the milk and cheese are triggers... I don't eat out often, don't eat junk food (fast food/candy/stuff like that), I eat really low fat (my skin is no longer oily, weird)

Hang in there, Jordy. Do you still have pain/bloating/gass issues or is it the "going often enough" that is the problem? I got really constipated (I really needed laxatives) when I first switched to the diet, as I didn't eat anything to stimulate my gut in fear it would hurt... and it stopped hurting after a point, so I could reintroduce those "stimulant" foods in a more controlled way. So, I took this as a divide and conquer problem:
1) Attack the pain - eat safe food even if you get constipated from it, at least it doesn't hurt
2) Once 1 is down, attack the C -- eat more IF (gradually).

That basically meant I went on white bread toast, rice(mostly brown), potato puree, baby food (made of bananas, LOL), bananas, apple sauce, almond milk/rice milk, oatmeal and cream of wheat, chicken breast and salmon, various (really safe) soups (such as potatoes with a little spices) while in stage 1). I don't remember cheating. I only ate this. It wasn't that exiting, but I don't live to eat, I eat to live. My body adjusted and problem 1) was virtually gone. Then I started paying attention to the message boards and people suggested various veggies as IF And I started slowly reincorporating them... I also started having milk... Ta da, problem 1) hasn't come back yet (thank God!)

I am saying this, because I remember reading you put flax meal in your morning oatmeal... maybe you are not tackling the problem as extremely as I did, or maybe you are, but don't know that you are not doing it right? Do you have a list of foods you eat like I do? And are you trying the divide and conquer approach?

Also, I believe the Lord has something to do with my recovery Thank Him!
