I've had 4 doctors assure me that I cannot become dependent on Miralax. I hope they are right, as it is the only thing that makes my bowels work. I have not had to increase my dose since starting it about a year ago.
Does anyone else know for sure the facts about Miralax and dependency???
I've tried decreasing the dose, as my SFS has increased, but then, unfortunately, I am still stuck with constipation and that is painful. I guess we need to take whatever it takes to have a better quality of life.
However, I agree...you probably will get softer stools...and if you already have soft stools, that might make it worse. That's one thing I don't like about Miralax. why don't you try it, and see how it goes?
