You should not take Zelnorm if you have a history of diarrhea...

From Zelnorm's Website

Zelnorm is for IBS-C. If you're IBS-D you should NOT be taking it and if your doctor is recommending it find another doctor. Now.

Give the EFI Diet time to work. Follow the Diet strictly, try herbal teas like peppermint (assuming you don't have acid reflux), and start adding an SFS that is pure Soluble Fiber (not Metamucil) - start low and go up slowly.

You can use Imodium preventively until you stabilize - try one a day or one morning and evening. You can also talk to your (new) doctor about a prescription anti-spasmodic - I take Donnatol but there are lots of them out there.

If you're truly miserable with D, you can start out with the Break The Cycle Diet for 2 to 3 days to give your gut a chance to settle down a little, then begin adding other foods slowly.

And be sure you've done the reading about the EFI Diet and the Boards.

Zelnorm. Sheesh.

HTH. Welcome to the Boards.
