Hey guys,
Well, I made it home to NY. The plane trip (the second try!) wasn't so bad at all. Only discomfort came when I OD'd on Altoids on an empty stomach right before boarding the first flight. I was mighty nauseous for a time, but that was my own doing. 
Knowing that I successfully made this trip is a big thing. Something I can cling to, knowing "I've done it before, I can do it again."
Thanks so much for your encouragement. My roomates and friends/family were understanding in the end. I tried to make a joke of it too. So...trying to keep a sense of humor about all this.
