So much better than a lower GI though! After I had mine done (I had that test done twice) I didn't take anything medicine wise to move the barium out of my system. The morning after my BM was awful and really white but I ate normally and the next day it was much better (I even indulged some because I figured hey if it moved through me fast, it moved the barium out with it!). It stayed pale for a couple of days though. I just didn't want to take anything in fear of triggering my IBS but maybe others on here have some advice better than mine.
