Every so often my bowels get like a kinked hose. It takes a while to get it moving again. This time it has been about 3 weeks (I mentioned a couple weeks ago how I was doing badly from possibly missing too many acacia doses and not drinking enough). So what I was wondering is if there is any sort of drug or remedy for calming out the colon. It is in knots! I need to find out what options are available before going to the doctor. She usually works with me on what I want. So has anyone heard of something to ease the cramps that are restricting my colon? My stool is normal consistency and I do not need mineral oil or stool softeners or things like that. Until my colon relaxes nothing will move through as it should and my pain and bloating are awful. My colon feels like a balloon that someone is pinching tight and not letting the air out.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
