I am a little surprised so many have been stricken for more than 15 years. I know I had C like crazy as a little kid and much of that because I didn't want to go sometimes; it also seemed like even then I couldn't just say 'hmm I think I have to poop' and go do it, but instead felt yucky on a very regular basis. Cheese was a huge culprit. Then at about 15 I started getting occassional really bad D with nausea that seemed like food poisoning some of the time. By 18 I had IBS on a more regular basis. I went to the doctor for it when about 20 but had no insurance and received no help whatsoever. I made myself much worse through my own ignorance. I have been on Heather's diet for almost 2.5 years. I have seen improvement but unfortunately I am far from cured and often feel like I can't bear it much longer. I wish a cure could be found! Even when I am regular (with no C or D) I am very often bloated.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Even when I am regular (with no C or D) I am very often bloated.
