I take it in the moring with my thyroid med so I have an hour before I can eat. It helps tremendously with the pain. In fact, I have no pain with BMs when I take my L-Glutamine regularly. It won't help with D, C, or gas (at least it shouldn't but if it does - great!). It strengthens the lining of your stomach. If I skip a day, the next day BMs hurt again so make sure you get it everyday. It's available in 500 and 1000 mg caps and as a powder. The powder seeps into your system faster than the caps. How much are you planning on taking each day (dosage amount)? I buy it from vitaminshoppe.com. They have sales all the time and shipping is cheap.
