Hi. I've been reading a lot at this site since discovering it a few days ago. I also got a hold of Heather's recipie book. My challenge is that, in addition to the IBS -C I've also got a ton of food allergies. Most of the recipies contain things I'm allergic to. (e.g. Fish, eggs, nuts, sesame, tropical fruit, etc.)
Have you checked out the Recipe Board and Recipe Index? There are a zillion recipes out there and you should have better luck finding some that don't contain stuff you're allergic to.

So I want to try to concentrate more on the supplements approach to reducing bloating, gas pain, and constipation. A few questions:
1. Ever heard of allergies to the acacia? (Haven't tried it yet).
Some people have reported problems with Acacia even at extremely low doses. You can do a Search on "acacia allergy" (don't use the quotes) on the Diet Board with no time limit to see what they've said. If you do decide to try it, talk to Customer Service - I think Heather has a money-back policy.

2. I've tried peppermint tea and it had no noticeable effect. Would the effect of the enteric-coated pills be significantly greater?
This one I don't know.

3. I'm not a picky eater (as long as I'm not allergic to it), but one of the few flavors I really dislike is licorice. So I'm wondering if there's a non-tea version (some kind of pill?) for the fennel?
You can also try "hiding" the fennel in other teas. If you do a Search on the Diet Board with no time limit for "hate fennel" (don't use the quotes) you'll get some suggestions.

Thanks.
Welcs. HTH.
