I do this too! When I am exhausted (and/or hormonal) is when I am most likely to overeat. I think it has something to do with seratonin levels. Your seratonin levels plummet when you're really tired, and things like bread and desserts boost them so you get a temporary high and feel more awake.

If you are getting 7 hours of sleep a night and are still tired, you might not be getting good, deep sleep. Do you wake up a lot during the night? You might want to see a sleep specialist -- they can help you figure out to get better-quality sleep.

Don't beat yourself up about overeating. It happens to all of us (certainly to me!), especially when we are tired and stressed.
