I encourage you to familiarize yourself with this website - the soluble fiber found in Acacia, Metamucil and Citrucel, and fibercon are all forms of soluble fiber which is benificial for both IBS-C and IBS-D according to Heather (my syptoms support her suggestions) as they have different effects for each. Where it might enable you to use the bathroom, it prevents me from using it too much. You should certainly try to inform yourself about what this website is all about before being so forward (just my opinion) - people around here need encouragement and not negativity.
