Learning to eat new foods

I wasn't raised in a home where we ate alot of rice, and over the years I suppose I grew a dislike for the taste and texture of it. Now going on 6 years of IBS, I feel I almost have to start eating new things to avoid bordem and the constant worry of what to eat.

I am certainly open to trying new foods..but whats the best way to go about it? Any certain recipies to get me used to the texture perhaps? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
