Vitamin C helps absorb iron

When consuming iron-rich foods, be sure to include a source of vitamin C to assist in absorbing the iron.

Beano does work (I use it!) if you're nervous about gas or just gassy! After awhile, though, I discovered that my body more or less re-developed enzymes to digest foods like legumes and even broccoli. Mashed or pureed, these foods are actually rather gentle. I still use it for food-anxious days.
