I'm in pretty much the same situation as you.
My Doctor prescribed Zelnorm, that has hasn't worked. He upped my dosage (to 12mg twice a day! and still nothing after 4 weeks), and told me to take Miralax once a day. All it has done so far is made me even more bloated. I did read where it could do that, so I guess we have to be patient?
I'm in pain, too. I thought I had the beginning symptoms of a kidney infection, and saw my family doctor for it. He took a listen to my belly, and said it's my bowel. :-(
I just found this site, and went to the supermarket and bought some rice cakes, carrots and rice krispies cereal. I hope that will do for a start for the weekend!
