Doesn't it just blow your mind that you know more than your docs sometimes? Frustrating. I know that they see tons of patients a week and probably have little time for research, but still....This study said that 78 percent (I think that was the number) of IBS patients actually have SIBO. And your doc doesn't even know what SIBO is.
I've switched docs because my old one wants me on Zelnorm for life. No way thankyouverymuch.
My main symptoms are tremendous bloating after eating, gas. My gas can be weird though. I'll feel the pressure, then do the yoga poses, twisting, etc. and it'll come out, but then 10 minutes later, it's back. Like there's a little IBS devil in me, blowing up my tum like a balloon. I don't feel relief from passing gas.
I also used to think that I was constipated, but I don't think that anymore. I just assumed being bloated up that I had tons of stool stuck in me, but I do seem to have regular, though not consistent, BMs.
I also just purchased the book The False Fat Diet, which talks about food allergies. Can't wait to get that and read it.
