Thanks so much....I think it must really just be something that just completely destabilized everything. I think I was taking for granted how very stable I was! <Insert neon sign that says "Yes, silly, you still have IBS-D" here> lol.
I was looking at the calendar to schedule the doctor's appointment, and realized that I think this all started about the same time as I had a major allergic reaction, and started a bunch of new drugs all at once. Mostly steriods and antihistamines, none seem to have listed any particular GI side-effects (anyone else have any experience with this?), but they are all at such high dosages that it could be just the general system upheaval, I suppose. Also, the combination of medications has prevented me from sleeping more than an hour or two a night, so I'm sure at this point, that it a factor contributing to my inability to get restabilized. Gah. As well, being alive and breathing is always a plus, I suppose that might just temporarily have to take priority over a life away from the toilet, and I'll just have to do what I can to keep some food *in* for the meantime!
So, I'm sitting here with my little cup of applesauce, pondering the rest of the food for the day, and a definite trip to the store. If I'm going to back away from my beloved oatmeal for a little while, I know Cream of Rice is a safe option, but does anyone actually *like* it? Most my friends here eat it with cheese/ bacon/ eggs other weird things in it....what are the other options? Is it edible with some cinnamon and brown sugar or something more like oatmeal? Also, I love arrowroot cookies, but I remember from last time that the gerber brand has some trigger in them (milk, I think?). Anyone know of a good generic brand? (I'm on the east coast).
Thanks so much....it's nice to know that the board is still here and supportive...
