Well, got my results this morning. This company (YorkTest) divides foods into 3 categories - - Red: Remove these foods from your diet, you are intolerant of them. Intolerance graded from +1 to +4, with +4 being the most severe - Amber: Eat with caution, definitely no more than every 4 or 5 days - Green: No reaction.
My RED foods are: Cows Milk and related products +2 (already cut that out, except still searching for a dairy-free cheese in the UK so still nibble a bit of cheese occasionally) Wheat +1 Gluten +1 Yeast +1 Bucketwheat +1 Corn (Maize) +1 Millet +1 Lamb +1
My YELLOW foods are: Barley Egg White Pork (don't eat it anyway) Beef (don't eat it anyway) Lentils (bummer) Hazelnut (don't eat it) Garlic (Doh) Ginger (Doh)
Everything else green - it tested 113 foods altogether.
So... Mllk and related dairy products I can live with, once I find a dairy-free cheese. Ooh, only just realised that includes chocolate!! Noooooo!! The bit that's gutted me is the wheat/gluten/yeast - that wipes out about 75% of my diet now I've moved to Eating for IBS diet! Bagels, white bread, sourdough, etc etc... I guess I have to start looking for gluten-free replacement products (which I remember hearing somewhere taste rubbish). But I was thinking, won't gluten-free bread still have yeast in it?
Can't believe there's a slight reaction to egg whites too, whereas egg yolks have no reaction - I've cut out yolks and being having plenty of whites for protein. Doh!
Sorry, I'm rambling, but it's all only just sinking in...
Help!!
