I'm not sure if I have any advice you haven't heard before. I just mainly wanted to let you know that you are not alone and it will eventually heal and get better. After having my son, my IBS started. I'm really an IBS-A, alternating between C and D. I developed a fissure, and man does that hurt! And seeing blood after going to the bathroom definitely doesn't make you feel any better about your condition! Who knew a little cut could sting so bad and cause such a scene! My doctor of course said to do anything I could to make my stools softer: take a fiber supplement, eat more fiber, drink more water. I take the Acacia fiber supplement multiple times a day (obviously I started slow and built up my dose). I also try to incorporate a little IF when I can, like eating 1 or 2 strawberries after a meal. And I also drink TONS of water. I don't drink while eating since that can affect digestion, but between meals I guzzle water and tea! I'm also nursing my son now which really takes a lot of your "liquids" from you, but by following these few simple measures, my fissure has healed! Knock on wood, but I think it's been healed for at least 6 months now, so I hope that means it won't come back. I know how horrible the fissure can be, pain wise and all. Mine use to heal and then break open again all the time...this is first time I've gone so long w/ it being healed! So trust me, once your body starts stablizing it will get better.

HOpefully I've helped a little and I hope it isn't too painful for you.

Take care,
Amber
