Re: colonoscopy prep tomorrow...       03/05/06 07:47 PM Edit Reply Quote heavenlee Reged: 01/13/04 Posts: 79 I had to do the colonoscopy for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I was very, very nervous too. It actually wasn't so bad for me. I had to drink a gallon of the Golytely. It didn't taste as bad as I thought it would. I would drink a huge gulp then chase it down with apple juice and kept doing that until it was gone. I was afraid of cramping but there was none. But it did take a long time to get all the liquid out of me. I started at 1pm and didn't stop going until 11pm. Another thing was that the liquids made me extremely full, which is good and bad because at least I wasn't hungry for food. The test itself was a breeze. I went out like a lightbulb. The nurse was talking to me and the next minute I know I was waking up in the postop room. But, it did take me a few days to get stable after the colonscopy. So be prepared to try and get stable after. Not that it happens to everyone, but that was my & some other's experience. Good luck! Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
