I feel your pain--I get motion sickness too, but I have never vomited from it--I just get really worried that I will! That might, in turn, cause more problems the next day! I would avoid dramamine, unless you want to go to sleep! I am going on a road trip/plane back home next week, so I invested in an arm band that sends impulses to the part of your brain that is affected by motion. It haven't used it yet, but it has received rave reviews. It is called: Relief Band Device. I got mine from drugstore.com. I can't take anything over the counter because of the meds I take for IBS and my heart--both make me drowsy, so dramamine (which would normally make me super tired and groggy all day anyway) would probably make me pass out.
Something else natural you could try is ginger. Ginger has been said to work better than dramamine for nausea/vomiting associated with motion and morning sickness. I always take it with me every where I go. It usually works for me as long as I take it an hour before and then during the activity.
And last, if you are worried about having a D attack during the activity, just take some Immodium ahead of time as a preventative. Tell yourself that you are covered and that nothing will happen! As long as I take it ahead of time, I have never had problems with attacks due to the stresses of travelling.
Good luck!
