I think Heather posted an article that said it is linked to stomach discomfort and cramps. I'd do a search on her webpage and in the message boards for more info. I'm sure you will find the answer to your question, or at least ore information. I know some people tolerate it just fine. In fact, a lot of people recommend soy-sation brand soy cheeses. I tried some the other day and haven't felt good since. But I also introduced another new food at the time, which obviously wasn't such a smart idea! So I have no idea what caused my stomach discomfort: the carrageenan, casein, or other food! It's hard to tell with things like these because some people seme to tolerat them just fine.
