Hello!!
I haven't posted in a while. Well in sum, I was a vegetarian for 4 years and had big trouble with IBS. Then I started eating meat again and my IBS got better. I decided to become a vegetarian again and I did 4 months ago... now my IBS is back. Tons of gas, bloating, cramps. My stools are softer but I don't really have diarreah or constipation as I did previuosly (first time of being a veggie). This time, is gas and cramps mainly. I have these 2 symptoms everyday... and as I speak right now I want to cry because the pain is so bad. I was taking Beano, which helps a little with the gas, but the cramps and bloating right now are aweful... I just took Bentyl for the pain.... Don't know what to do. I had Heather's book when I first got IBS and I packed it when I moved and now I can't find it. Sorry for this long post but I'm really overwhelmed.... I don't know what to eat.... My diet is as follows:
Breakfast - Oatmeal or fruits Snack - nuts or seeds Lunch - tofu, or beans, brown rice, salads, wholewheat pasta, soy burgers, etc snack - fruits or granola bars Dinner - same as lunch
I know that my body can't take all this fiber.... my diet seems SOO "healthy" for everybody but it's killing me. I'm so stressed and sad about this as I like to eat this way... going back to eating meats (which don't cause me trouble) is not an alternative for me. I don't eat eggs either. I know meat doesn't have fiber and I digest it without problem. I guess I'm different than the majority of IBS sufferers....
Please guys I need seriuos HELP!!! I know I have IBS because I had all the tests done, from blood test, to food allergies, to stool tests, to sigmoid. Everything is normal... as soon as I got back to being a vegetarian... my nightmare started again....
Are there any vegetarians here???? Can you help me please??
