I've been thinking all week what would have caused my IBS-C to come back so strongly since I got back from my vacation. I've been really good for over a year and then bam! I get back from Mexico and absolutely nothing helps to have a bm. I eat lots of SF and IF, lots of H2o and tea, exercise every day and if I didn't take a laxative today it wouldn've been 12 days of not going. I was on the point of insanity.
Anyways here's my conclusion and I was wondering what anyone else thinks of it. Before I left I rarely ate sugar..my diet was mostly raw fruit, veggies, chicken/salmon and oatmeal. Here and there I'd have a cookie or whatever but rarely. When I was in Mexico..I had lots of fruity drinks (mixed with fruit juice and lots of alcohol I assume). I have never drank alcohol before I went there. Plus I didn't gorge myself with sweets but I definitely ate alot more desserts then before. Could I have an overgrowth of yeast or bad bacteria? Could all the sugar that I'm not used to have fed that gross stuff and now its taken over in my tum and bowels? I've heard of there being an overgrowth of yeast..could that have happened? And since yeast and b. bacteria feeds on sugar wouldn't that mean the SF I'm eating is feeding it?
This is the only thing I can come up with about why this nightmare is happening again.
