Stable for years: Mystery.....       01/28/06 11:33 AM Edit Reply Quote DWS Reged: 01/10/06 Posts: 20 I'm puzzled. I was diagnosed with IBS (at the time they called it spastic colon) when I was very young. From 4 or 5 years-old until the age of 21 I was plagued w/pain and d. Stress and certain foods seemed to trigger my problems. But around 21 my problems seemed to go away almost overnight. I remained very stable for about 13 years. I ate anything that I wanted. I even drank coffee daily, and ate ice cream regularly throughout those years. Then one day about a year and a half ago out-of-the-blue it came back with a vengence. Ever since then I'll have fairly stable times (if I'm eating right) and very unstable times. It's a mystery to me why it went away for so long and then came back so strong.
